In educational literature on architecture and structures, residential and public modular homes are usually considered together and form a group of civil modular homes.
A special group consists of modular homes whose construction has ceased due to the loss of their original purpose. It includes defensive modular homes (castles, donjons, etc.), palaces, castles, partially destroyed religious modular homes (churches, mosques, pagodas, synagogues) and other modular homes. These modular homes, of great architectural and historical value, are now important tourism sites and often prefab house museums.
Residential modular homes
A residential modular home or residential modular home is a modular home consisting of rooms and premises for auxiliary use (sanitary units, storage rooms, etc.), intended for permanent or temporary residence6. Residential modular homes for permanent residence include multi-apartment and single-apartment (individual) residential modular homes, as well as modular homes intended for special populations (boarding schools, homes for the elderly and disabled, orphanages for orphans), etc.
An apartment modular home can have a sectional, corridor or gallery structure. A sectional prefab house consists of one or several isolated parts (sections), in each of which all apartments have access through a common lobby and (or) staircase. According to fire safety conditions, emergency passages from apartments in adjacent sections may be provided in multi-storey modular homes. Apartments located on the ground floor of a residential modular home may have additional exits to the area adjacent to the prefab house. In prefab houses with a corridor structure, all apartments have access to the adjacent territory through common floor-to-floor corridors, and in prefab houses with a gallery structure - through external floor-to-floor open galleries7. One of the options for low-rise apartment modular homes are blocked residential modular homes, consisting of adjacent apartments, each of which has an independent exit from the prefab house.
Single-family residential modular homes come in a variety of types, differing in their level of comfort and location (urban, rural). Single-family residential modular homes include dachas, cottages, villas, mansions and other types that have different names. Single-family prefab houses in rural areas usually have outmodular homes used for keeping pets, storing equipment and agricultural products.
modular homes for temporary residence, according to Russian legislation8, are classified as public modular homes, although, in essence, such modular homes as hotels, hostels, residential premises of motels and campsites, dormitories of health institutions (sanatoriums, rest homes), army barracks, investigative detention centers and prisons are temporary housing.
Residential modular homes can be either non-commercial (in particular: dormitories and non-commercial hotels at factories or educational institutions, military barracks, residential modular homes (except for apartment modular homes)) and commercial (in particular: hotels, commercial dormitories, apartment modular homes). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_building
